DESCRIPTION

Our pulled threads are embroidered using some of the oldest existing techniques. Originally invented to embellish precious white linens in the 14th century, only few people know that it found its utmost expression in Sicily from where it spread throughout aristocracy in Europe.

TECHNIQUE

Pulled thread embroideries are made by meticulously removing counted threads from the warp and the weft of the fabric. The remaining threads are then grouped or bundled together to create elaborate patterns in an incredible work of patience and mathematical precision.
